The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze Returns This September

Historic Hudson Valley (HHV) has announced ticket sales for its fall season, including its world-renowned Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, for which tickets are now on sale. The organization also gave details about a new event featuring master illusionists.

For many Westchester residents and visitors, the Blaze officially ushers in the fall season. From September 15 through November 19, thousands of hand-carved jack o’lanterns arranged in elaborate displays will light up Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson. The new edition of Blaze: Long Island will bring the pumpkin magic to Old Bethpage Village Restoration, a historic site owned and operated by Nassau County, from September 22 through November 5.

New to HHV’s fall season is The Spirits of Sleepy Hollow Country: A Night of Legendary Magic at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow, which runs from September 29-October 29. The supernatural event will feature professional magicians Mark Clearview and Nick Wallace, who communicate with spirits of Sleepy Hollow lore like the Headless Horseman.

Also included this fall are staples of the HHV season, including Home of the Legend, an afternoon that includes a tour of author Washington Irving’s estate, an original shadow puppet film, and a special Legend exhibit (September 15- November 5); and Irving’s ‘Legend’, an evening retelling of Irving’s famed tale The Legend of Sleepy Hollow as told outdoors by master storyteller Jonathan Kruk, accompanied by live music from Jim Keyes (September 29-October 31). A one-day event on September 16, Belinda’s Bewitching Tea Party, will include festive mocktails and snacks, a viewing of a doll once owned by Irving’s niece, lawn games, and more.
