Mamaroneck Avenue (btwn Main Street/Martine Avenue)
White Plains

We are so excited to share that this Fest’s headliner is Brooklyn’s fast-rising band Sammy Rae & The Friends! Their high-energy, spirited and unrestrained shows bring audiences inside an all-for-one and one-for-all camaraderie, to enjoy the band’s palpable chemistry, deft virtuosity and Sammy Rae’s riveting vocal fireworks! NPR Music, the Boston Globe and American Songwriter alike have dubbed Sammy Rae, “…an artist to watch in 2022.”

Stacked with tight rhythm and horn sections, keyboards and backup vocals, Sammy Rae & The Friends’ sound is a mélange of Sammy Rae’s influences from classic rock, folk and funk, sprinkled with soul and jazz. This band has been selling-out shows in the Northeast and beyond, including Terminal 5 in NYC, the Boston Royal, 9:30 Club in DC, Theatre of Living Arts in Philly, Showbox in Seattle and Cannery Ballroom in Nashville.

Leading off the Serious Fun Headliner Concert Celebration is ANDROMEDA “Emerging” at 2pm. This moving concert experience combines dance and immersive theater with uplifting songs of hope.

Next, at 3:30 The Brighton Beat takes center stage with danceable tunes featuring a bumping horn section. Brighton Beat shows include guest vocalists, audience participation and more!

PRODUCER OF PERFORMANCES’ CURATORIAL STATEMENT

In keeping with the Fest’s visual arts takeover of downtown White Plains, this diverse mix of outstanding bands, dancers, theater and circus artists, DJs, street and train station performers has been selected to amplify and respond to the stunning and emotive art on display.

To draw Fest-goers from NYC, up/down the Hudson valley, Fairfield, New Jersey and make their experience memorable, artistic excellence and relevance to the art and ArtsWestchester’s mission was central. The goal is for attendees to enjoy, discover and return to White Plains: a great place to enjoy the arts, eat, shop, live and work!
