Artist Statement
Playwright and author of many children's books, plays, TV shows, magazine articles and website features. In Spring, 2003, "The Substitute Tooth Fairy," a farce for family audiences, toured Westchester-area libraries with support from the a WAC Arts Alive grant. Other plays have been seen in NYC and regional theatres. Frequent guest speaker/workshop presenter at schools, libraries, community organizations. Teacher/mentor at Hillside Elementary School in Hastings for a course on writing and producing a play. Instructor at Westchester Community College on writing and developing a situation comedy. Known for engaging students, young and old, in the creative process, finding their voice as writers, and making learning fun. Recipient of the Distinguished Achievment Award from the Association of Educational Publishers. MFA, Brookyn College. BA, Oberlin College.
