Artist Statement

Romanian-born singer and poet Cristina Necula currently works as Director of Alumni Affairs for her alma mater, Purchase College, SUNY. She speaks and writes in 6 languages. Since 2001, she has been a regular contributor to Classical Singer Magazine. Cristina pursued her vocal studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. In New York City, she has performed in concerts at Merkin Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Florence Gould Hall, CAMI Hall, Di Capo Opera Theater, the Statue of Liberty, and the Romanian Cultural Center. She has been on a US tour with National Theater of The Performing Arts playing the Fox in the musical â??The Little Prince.â?? In September 2006, she released her first CD of her own songs, lyrics and arrangements entitled â??One Millennium Before Sunriseâ??, available on Amazon and CD Baby as well as on her website. In April 2007, Xlibris Publishers released her volume of poems â??Shadows and Miraclesâ??, available online on Amazon, Borders, Barnes & Noble. Educational Background

At Purchase, she studied Language & Culture with a Music minor, then she completed her language studies at the University of Vienna, Austria and at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France.
