Hudson Chorale Holiday Concert

Hudson Chorale Holiday Concert at Maryknoll – Händel’s Messiah (Part I), Margaret Bonds’ Ballad of the Brown King and Mendelssohn’s Behold a Star from Jacob Shining 

We are delighted to be returning for the holiday season with two matinee concerts to be held December 9th and 10th, both at 3:00 PM at the Chapel at Maryknoll, 55 Ryder Rd, Ossining, NY 10545.

Our program will include the “Christmas portion” of Handel’s beloved Messiah as well as a rarely performed gem from the mid-20th century, The Ballad of the Brown King, by Margaret Bonds. A special treat will be Mendelssohn’s anthem Behold a Star from Jacob Shining.

Hudson Chorale, under the baton of Artistic Director David Baranowski, will perform with a 15 piece chamber orchestra and soloists including Fernando Watts, Baritone and La Toya Lewis, Soprano.

About Hudson Chorale

David Baranowski was named Artistic Director of the Hudson Chorale in 2020 after serving for years as Assistant Director and Accompanist. David is a highly versatile conductor and musician, performing with equal virtuosity on piano, keyboard, organ, and harpsichord. He has played and directed numerous chamber and choral concerts in New York and Connecticut, conducted Così fan tutte for Delaware Valley Opera, and musical directed and conducted The Wild Party and Crazy for You for the Musical Theater department at Western Connecticut State University. The largest mixed choir in the county, Hudson Chorale is a collegial group of men and women of all ages and musical backgrounds. Hudson Chorale selects its programs from a wide range of choral styles, from great oratorios to gospel. Recent concerts have featured works by composers including Haydn, Brahms, Bruckner, Mendelssohn, Fauré, Stravinsky, Bartok, Gershwin and Bernstein.
