ArtsWestchester Launches Spring Makeover for The Shop at ArtsWestchester

New artists and products offer timely and unique holiday and gift offerings.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (May 5, 2016) – Just in time for spring comes a seasonal makeover of The Shop at ArtsWestchester.  The gift shop in the heart of White Plains is home to the handmade art and craft items of more than twenty artists and makers from the Hudson Valley and New York City.  Proceeds from the Shop’s sales benefit the participating artists, as well as ArtsWestchester’s mission of supporting the arts in Westchester County. For more information, visit: artsw.org/giftshop.

ArtsWestchester CEO Janet Langsam explains: “Our gallery highlights the talented artists working in and around Westchester, and The Shop at ArtsWestchester is a destination for locally-produced upscale yet affordable product. A purchase at the shop is a great way to support individual local artists and small businesses in our area.”

The Shop at ArtsWestchester, housed inside the gallery of ArtsWestchester’s historic landmark building at 31 Mamaroneck Avenue, showcases contemporary handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, locally-made skincare products, art prints and art-to-wear fashions.  Also on display are CDs from local musicians and books by local authors.  Unique gifts are available for any age group, budget and occasion, including Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and graduations gift ideas.  A selection from the Shop’s collection of artisan-designed greeting cards adds a personal touch to any shopper’s gift choice.

Scarsdale-based artist and arts advocate Elena Rosenberg, who serves as advisor to the Shop, adds: “The Shop hours coincide with ArtsWestchester’s gallery hours, and with the current SHE: Deconstructing Female Identity exhibition on view, now is the perfect time to visit the Shop and the show.  We even have some items from exhibiting SHE artists for sale.”  The gallery is free and open to the public.
