Caramoor Receives ArtsWestchester Grant for Free Concerts
Caramoor President and Chief Executive Officer Edward J. Lewis III was recently joined by Westchester County Legislator Erika L. Pierce and ArtsWestchester CEO Janet Langsam on the Caramoor grounds to announce an ArtsWestchester grant that will fund three free concerts in Caramoor’s 2023 summer and fall seasons.
The $40K grant will make possible a June 4 Soundscapes event; a July 9 New York premiere of Ted Hearne’s FARMING, performed by The Crossing; and an October 15 Dia de los Muertos event.
Caramoor offers five performance spaces for performances and has just announced its summer lineup. There are intimate settings like The Sunken Garden and the Spanish Courtyard, as well as large-scale spaces like the open-sided tent of the Venetian Theater (cap: 1,220), a seated venue that often features headlining acts, and Friends Field, which offers a more relaxed vibe, where guests can bring their own blankets, chairs and picnics (cap: 1,000). The grounds are open to explore every Thursday-Sunday.
