What‘s Westchester Watching? April 2026 Edition

“What’s Westchester Watching?” is ArtsNews’ guide to movies in Westchester, including notable releases and special screenings.*

This April, film screenings in Westchester span the history of film, from shorts by the “Father of Special Effects” Georges Méliès to new releases with contemporary stars, like The Drama featuring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. Other highlights include bilingual screenings of the animated feature The Book Of Life / El Libro De La Vida and a Q&A with actors Amy Irving and Peter Riegert following a screening of Crossing Delancey.

New Releases

Miroirs No. 3

German director Christian Petzold’s latest feature follows Laura, a young student recuperating from a car accident under the care of a woman and her family in the countryside. The psychodrama explores themes of grief and connection as Laura comes to know her found family. Miroirs No. 3 is currently playing at Jacob Burns Film Center and opens at Bedford Playhouse on April 24.

You, Me & Tuscany

Halle Bailey (The Little Mermaid, 2023) and Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton) star in You, Me & Tuscany, a new rom-com that tells the story of a chef (Bailey) who crashes at an uninhabited Italian villa and pretends to be the owner’s wife. There, she meets and falls for the owner’s cousin (Page). You, Me & Tuscany opens nationwide and throughout Westchester on April 10.

The Drama

The Drama sees Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as an engaged couple whose relationship is pushed to its limit during the week of the wedding. The Drama opens at The Picture House Bronxville on April 2 and at Jacob Burns Film Center on April 3.

Cléo From 5 to 7

April 8

Agnès Varda’s French New Wave classic Cléo From 5 to 7 takes place over the course of one day as a pop singer professionally known as Cléo Victoire awaits the results of a biopsy. The movie has become a time capsule of the streets of 1960s Paris where it was filmed. At 7pm.

Méliès Shorts

April 11 & 12

Jacob Burns Film Center hosts two screenings of shorts by pioneering silent filmmaker Georges Méliès. Méliès’ background as a stage magician informed his fantastical films, including his iconic A Trip to the Moon. Other films in the lineup include The Kingdom of Fairies and The Impossible Voyage. At 11am.

Crossing Delancey with Amy Irving and Peter Riegert Q&A
Bedford Playhouse
April 12

Bedford Playhouse revisits Joan Micklin Silver’s rom-com Crossing Delancey, followed by a Q&A with lead actors Amy Irving and Peter Riegert. Irving plays Isabelle, a bookseller living in New York City who is set up by her grandmother with pickle salesman Sam (Riegert). Isabelle is pursuing the writer Anton Maes, but her affection slowly grows for Sam. At 3pm.

Bridesmaids: 15^th Anniversary

April 18, 19 & 23

Bridesmaids returns to theaters for the 15^th anniversary of its release. Its all-star cast features Kristen Wig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy and more. The comedy sees Wiig as the maid of honor for her best friend Lillian’s (Rudolph) wedding. She competes with Lillian’s new friend (Byrne) to organize the pre-wedding events and lead the eccentric bridal party. Jacob Burns Film Center encourages attendees to “commit to the bit” and wear a bridesmaid dress to the screening for a free small popcorn. Various times.

The Book Of Life / El Libro De La Vida

April 19

Tarrytown Music Hall hosts two screenings of animated film The Book Of Life / El Libro De La Vida—one in English and one in Spanish. The story follows Manolo, a young man who ventures across three fantastical worlds as he grapples with realizing his family’s expectations or following his heart. Voice cast includes Diego Luna, Ice Cube, Christina Applegate and more. 3pm in Spanish; 6pm in English.

Dazed and Confused
Mamaroneck Cinemas
April 20

Mamaroneck Cinemas screens Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused. Set in 1976 on the last day of school for a group of teenagers in Austin, Texas.The comedy centers on Randall, the school’s star football player who is trying to abstain from partying before the championship game. At 7pm.

The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye

April 24

The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye is a portrait of performance artist Genesis P-Orridge and their partner Lady Jaye. The documentary focuses on their “Pandrogeny” project, in which the two went through a series of body modifications with the goal of looking more similar in appearance and creating a conceptual third being. The film is screening as part of KinoSaito’s Love in the Archive film series. RSVP required.

Boys Go to Jupiter
Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers
April 28

3D-animator, designer and illustrator Julian Glander’s first feature film, Boys Go to Jupiter, showcases the creator’s surrealist animation style and follows a teenager in Florida hustling to make $5,000 dollars inthe gig economy. Glander has previously animated for the likes of Disney, the Cartoon Network and more. Boys Go to Jupiter’s voice talent features alternative comedians Julio Torres, Grace Kuhlenschmidt, recent Tony Award-winner Cole Escola and more.  At 7:30pm.

Ex Libris: The New York Public Library

April 30 & May 1

Jacob Burns Film Center honors legendary documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman with a retrospective featuring Ex Libris: The New York Public Library. Ex Libris is later entry in Wiseman’s extensive oeuvre and takes a behind-the-scenes look at the New York Public Library and its connection to democracy in the United States. Various times.
