Arts Awards Highlight Cultural Work Rooted in Community

At a time when many arts organizations across the country are navigating reduced resources and shifting support, local artists and cultural organizations continue to show how creative work is woven into the fabric of community life. Across Westchester County, artists and arts groups are transforming public space into sites of connection, preserving cultural traditions, and reframing history through creative practice.

The 2026 Arts Awards, presented by ArtsWestchester, bring these artistic accomplishments into focus. The annual event recognizes artists and organizations whose contributions reflect sustained commitment to cultural life, access and public engagement. This year’s honorees will be recognized at a March 13 luncheon at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase.

According to Kathleen Reckling, ArtsWestchester CEO: “The 2026 Arts Award honorees embody the extraordinary depth and diversity of Westchester’s cultural spirit. From capturing the timeless beauty of the Hudson to reclaiming long-silenced histories and fostering radical inclusivity, these visionaries remind us that the arts are the foundation of a vibrant, equitable community.”
