Yorktown Stage Celebrates New Renovations and Upcoming Shows
Yorktown Stage recently celebrated the completion of its $1.2 million renovation project. The improvements include 551 new seats as well as new carpeting, roof, and air conditioning and heating equipment. Additionally, the lobby has been upgraded with new light fixtures, couches and a fresh coat of paint.
The theater, in northern Westchester, offers a range of programs, including musicals, plays, dance recitals and concerts. Yorktown Stage Kids, a nonprofit organization, promotes live theater for children. In addition, the stage is used by other arts groups like Taconic Opera.
The renovation was partly funded by a $100,000 state grant for new seating, with the remaining $1.1 million provided by the Town Board. The grand reopening featured a performance by singer-songwriter Anthony Nunziata. The Yorktown Stage’s upcoming performances include singer Chris Ruggiero on March 31 and Disney’s High School Musical from April 22-29.
