Artist Statement

sheila speller is a professional actor with over 20 years experience who has worked on stage off-broadway -- hudson guild theatre, henry street settlement, dixon place, and negro ensemble company, to name a few, she has appeared in film, daytime soaps and on television in national network commercials.  she attended howard university, and has a b.a. in theatre and dance from the university of maryland, college park.  in nyc she studied with acting mentors gloria maddox, clay stevenson, frances foster, joanna merlin, chuck patterson, and joan see, among others. sheila is an off-broadway producer and theatrical general manager. as a seminar/workshop leader and trainer, she has lead presentations on topics such as "developing a professional support system", at the school of visual arts in nyc, "the impact of african-americans in advertising -- in front of the camera and behind the scenes", "exploring your creativity in the workplace".  she is the president and founder of Orielle Creative Company -- an arts and entertainment company that focuses on business planning and marketing strategy company for creative professionals, arts organizations and entertainment companies.  the company also handles production planning for theatre, and business solutions for small arts companies and creative professionals.
