Artist Statement

Rebecca graduated from Connecticut College in 2007 with a degree in dance. While in college Rebecca had the opportunity to study under the direction of David Dorfman, Heidi Henderson, Lisa Race, Jeremy Nelson, Alexandra Beller, Doug Elkins, and performed in David Dorfman Dance's "Underground". Rebecca trained extensively in ballet, modern, jazz, and Duncan technique at schools throughout Westchester including Northern Westchester Center For the Arts, Scarsedale Ballet School, and the Scarsedale JCC and was a member of the Isadora Duncan Youth Ensemble from 1995 to 2003 performing throughout Eastern Europe, Hawaii and at the Fringe Festival in Scotland as a guest artist and soloist. Rebecca has had the opportunity to choreograph new modern works and to set them on and present them to students at Connecticut College, the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. She has also taught master classes at the Pulse Performing Arts Center in Bedford Hills, NY and is a founding member and company director of IsadoraNow, a Duncan restoration company choreographing new modern works based on the Duncan technique.
