I knew from a very young age that I was destined to be an artist. I followed my path and found an extremely fulfilling career in designing textiles. It took me places around the world to source and produce my work.I became expert at what I did and for over 30 years I perfected my craft. When it was time to re discover my love of fine art, I was concerned as to who would I be? would I feel the same passion? The answer is yes!. I now spend half the year in a magnificent setting on the Pemaquid Peninsula in Maine. I have become involved in an energetic art community that gives me great pleasure. I work in several media. Having graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Illustration, I am equally at home with graphite and pastel as well as oil. Although I attend figure classes at NY Art Students League, my time in Maine focuses on plein air painting. I incorporate my strength in design into what I see in the patterns of nature. Painting in plein air as I do , is challenging. I find my inspiration all around me. The brightness of color, the stillness, the span the sweep of fields and the ever changing reflections I see on the ponds,rivers and streams. My paintings are bold and fearless in my need to interpret my environment. The shadows and richness of the ever changing landscape. I learn something new constantly and that is what is so satisfying. I continually see changes in my work. I want to always feel that I am on the edge of something new. I have been guest artist at Pemaquid Art Gallery 2013.
