Artist Statement

My work encompasses many styles, different mediums and unique crafty bits. I'm a restless artist that paints what I feel relevant at different moments in time. While my art can reflect our times, I also have to jump away and paint what soothes me. In winter, I paint spring.  Tiring of oils I'll jump to watercolors and visa versa. And then I want to build things so then comes ornaments and earrings. It all comes from an unending desire to create and express.

Educational Background

My studies began in the ‘80’s with illustration, design and commercial art at Pace University, NY.  Then came Fine art, graphic art and web design at WCC, SUNY Westchester, NY.  I’ve studied privately learning different painting styles and techniques as well as portraiture.  I have had many other teachers and workshops along the way with continuous proliferation as my best teacher. Being a member of several art associations such as the Peekskill Arts Alliance of which I was president, Ossining Arts Council, and the Garrison Art Center has expanded my art world and experience considerably.  My work has been shown at many venues in New York, some of them being: the Howland Art Center, the Katonah Museum, the Garrison Art Center, the Paramount Center for the Arts, Peekskill City Hall, Blue Door Gallery, Ceres Gallery and Skylight Gallery in Chelsea in NYC and I have been represented at Gallery 66 in Cold Spring.
