Artist Statement

Julia Kelly is a professional actress performing on stage and television. She has appeared on several daytime programs, commercials and radio.  She appeared in the long running stage production of "Steel Magnolias" in Manhattan.   Julia worked at Barter Theater as an apprentice before majoring in theater at Webster University.  She is a member of Equity, AFTRA and SAG, the actors' stage, television, and screen unions.  Her education has also been extensive in New York, studying with renowned professors and directors.  She has a vast background in acting technique, speech, dialects, movement, and directing.   Julia directs plays, teaches acting in classrooms, conducts public speaking workshops and coaches individually.  With an interest in mental health issues, she assists a psychologist with drama therapy as well.  She performed her one-woman show, "Don't Mind Me", for two years at SUNY Purchase. Her show was awarded by the Westchester Arts Council and was given a grant from the Westchester Dept. of Mental Health.  She has performed it from Beverly Hills to Manhattan.   Videos are available on request.
