Westchester Oratorio Society, David Štech, artistic director, continues its 27th season.  Weekly rehearsals resume on Tuesday evening January 7 in preparation for the group’s Sunday, May 4, 2025 spring concert featuring an afternoon of transcendent choral music exploring themes of peace, spiritual reflection, and enduring hope: Randall Thompson’s “Alleluia,” Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” and Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem.”

Mr. Štech, who will be conducting the works accompanied by professional soloists and instrumental ensemble, noted, “these three masterpieces evoke profound spiritual contemplation and celebration. Much like our recent performance of King David, this concert offers a glimpse into the joy and camaraderie of making music together.”

Tuesday evening rehearsals have moved to a new location at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 331 NY 100, Somers, New York, allowing the group to return to its customary rehearsal time of  7:00-9:00 PM.

Rehearsals in January are “open house.”  Singers of all experience levels are welcome—the ability to sight-read is not mandatory.  For more information email  [email protected] or visit the group’s website at www.westchesteroratorio.org.
