Westchester Oratorio begins Rehearsals on September 9 in Somers for Fall Concert in Mount Kisco

Westchester Oratorio Society, a community chorus of 45 voices, invites competent volunteer singers in all voice parts to join them for their 28th Anniversary season, the group’s 2nd under the baton of artistic director, David Štech. Weekly rehearsals on Tuesday evenings begin on September 9, 2025. from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, 331. NY 100, Somers, New York.

In just one year Mr. Štech has gained a reputation for programs that are unique, inspirational, and a joy to sing. The group’s fall concert will be held on Friday evening, November 21 at the beautiful Mount Kisco Presbyterian Church. The program ranges from mystical songs and ancient prayers to shape-note hymns and radiant choruses. Featured are works by Felix Mendelssohn and Ralph Vaughan Williams and a medley of choruses and songs from traditional to Barber, Thompson, Stanford and Bach. As David says, “a journey from night into light.” The program Is made possible with a grant from the New York Community Trust.
