The Yonkers Philharmonic 47th Annual Concerto Competition is NOW OPEN

The Yonkers Philharmonic 47th Annual Concerto Competition is now open to accept applications from High School Students (grades 9 – 12) who are residents in Westchester County, NY.

Three winners will perform as soloists with the Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra in a special concert under the baton of Maestro Ariel Rudiakov on Saturday, May 9th 2026 – 3:00pm at Saunders Trades and Technical High School, Yonkers, NY.

Eligibility: Open to High School students who are residents in Westchester County NY.

Application Deadline: March 5th, 2026

1st Audition: Applicants must submit a video recording of their performance of

a selected concerto or movement along with the completed application form and

required application fee. All works must be in the public domain, or score and parts provided by the winning contestants. Yonkers Philharmonic will not be responsible for renting music.

About Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra

The Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director Ariel Rudiakov, presents free symphonic concerts. The concerts are held at Saunders Trade and Technical High School on Palmer Rd. in Yonkers. One highlight of the Spring season is the concert featuring winners of our annual Concerto Competition. Additional free concerts have been held during the summer at the new Hudson River Museum amphitheater, Untermyer Park, Cross County Shopping Center and the Riverfront Library in Yonkers. The Fine Arts Orchestral Society of Yonkers sponsors the Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra which comprises approximately 65 musicians. All concerts are FREE and open to the public.
