The Music Conservatory of Westchester Unveils New State-Of-The-Art Recording Studio

Date:  Sunday, September 18, 2022

Time: 1:00- 4:00 p.m.

The Music Conservatory of Westchester will be open on September 18th for a sneak peek of five new exciting teaching spaces, including:

  • Professional Recording Studio with both audio and visual capability
  • Digital Piano Lab with Yamaha Clavinovas and iMac computers
  • Percussion Studio equipped for jazz and rock bands
  • Rehearsal Studio for music, theatre, and dance
  • Additional Music Therapy Studio to meet the needs of students with disabilities

The studios reflect the development of 3,500 square feet of unfinished space on the lower level of the Conservatory building, giving MCW the unique opportunity to be the first organization in Westchester County to provide pre-college training in Recording Engineering and Music Production. The new program will prepare high school students for college programs and future career paths. Classes in recording techniques, studio composition and arranging, introductory piano, and music theory will be offered for youth and adults of all ages.

The Conservatory’s goal is to bridge music education with 21st-century technology-based innovation. Executive Director of the Conservatory, Jean Newton, said, “This project is the realization of a dream that began more than five years ago. We are thrilled to be able to offer these new facilities and programs to everyone in the community, with the quality for which our brand is known.”

Ryan Jennings, President of Sentinel Builders who constructed the new studios, said, “We are so excited to have completed this project. We are honored to mirror the mission of MCW, which is to provide the extraordinary benefits of music to everyone in Westchester and the surrounding communities. These new spaces will make that mission easier to accomplish.”
