Another free program presented by the Untermyer Performing Arts Council!
The Untermyer Performing Arts Council will present Spiritual Worship at 7pm on July 31s at Untermyer Park. Untermyer Park is located at 945 North Broadway, Yonkers.
Spiritual Worship brings the rich tradition of African American gospel music to their brass band ensemble with accompanying bass drum and cymbals to round out the sound. A gospel choir and marching band rolled into one, this “shout” gospel band replaces human voices with brass to create soulful gospel harmonies.
The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing free musical entertainment to the people of Yonkers.
All our programs are admission free and open to the public.
This program, done in cooperation with Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, is made possible by ArtsWestchester with support from Westchester County Government, the City of Yonkers, and Empire City Casino by MGM. Senator Shelley Mayer, Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins, Assemblymember Nader Sayegh and our generous supporters provide additional support for our programs.

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council (UPAC) is an all volunteer organization devoted to sponsoring musical concerts, dance performances, art exhibitions, cultural festivals and much more. These admission free performances are held at beautiful Untermyer Park, the crown jewel of the Yonkers\’ park system, which overlooks the Hudson River and Palisades. UPAC has a commitment to promote programs representative of the variety of cultures and ethnic groups represented in the City of Yonkers and Westchester County. During the summer months, the \”Untermyer on Broadway\” series of Free events highlights the diverse ethnic mux that is Westchester – Polish, Ukranian, Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese cultures to name a few – with an eclectic variety of music, dance and orchestral performances, including those specifically designed for children. The Untermyer Performing Arts Council (UPAC) was formed in 1976 to promote the appreciation of the performing arts in Yonkers and beyond. UPAC’s mission was to foster and sponsor performing arts events at the historic Untermyer Park and other venues in Yonkers. UPAC is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization that relies on public grants and private donations. To ensure accessibility and welcome the broadest public audience, all UPAC events are free and open to everyone.

In addition to its popular free summer performance series at Untermyer Park, a new program entitled “UPAC on the Road” was recently launched, with support from Arts Westchester to reach new communities and partner with a variety of neighborhoods, businesses and community organizations.
Now celebrating its 39th year, UPAC continues to grow and seek new ways to serve the residents of Yonkers and the surrounding region. The motto of the Untermyer Performing Arts Council can be summed up with three “E’s”…enlighten, educate and entertain.
