Opening Reception: September 21, 3-5 PM
A look at how artists use photography and painting to capture the persona of an individual, whether in reactions of the moment, introspective explorations triggered by posed questions or in response to near events.
November 23: 1-3 PM: In the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, you are invited to an intimate round table discussion with exhibition curator and collector Livia Straus and Mara Mills, STIE Theatre Artistic Director and storyteller par excellence.
Participants are invited to bring in a family photo, individual snap shot or selfie, to speak of personal meaning and the power of the image.

Marks on Paper: A Drawing Marathon:
Join us for an interactive day at HVMOCA, with drawing in the exhibition space and black box theater: live model, munchies and wine, and great comradery. Special for the day: Word Art Workshops with champion Slam Poet Nick Powers: 3-5 PM. Based on the model of ‘Writing the Walls’, the highly acclaimed annual event at HVMOCA, artists and writers will have the opportunity to create ekphrastic poems based on art in the exhibition and art in process at the drawing marathon.
