Ozland Festival

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, Antonia Arts will be having its 3rd Annual “Oz Land Festival” in Downtown Peekskill, NY, and “The Artist Spot” at 925 South Street where Antonia Arts Inc., is based.
Scarlett Antonia, Founder of Antonia Arts, Inc., has been planning the event, which will take place on South Street and Brown Street, for months. Antonia has gathered a circle of friends that are willing and who are able to help her execute this yearly family event. The inspiration behind the Oz Land Festival is that L. Frank Baum, the writer of the Great American Fairy Tale, “The Wizard of Oz”, attended Peekskill Military Academy. It has even been said that Baum coined the infamous “Yellow Brick Road” from yellow bricks found in Peekskill.. Furthermore, Antonia produced the musical, “The Wizard of Oz” in 2015, with four sold-out performances and two encore performances at The Paramount Hudson Valley Theater on Brown Street.
This year’s “Oz Land Festival” will be bigger than what was held in the past two years prior. Among the many attractions that will be at the festival is a live theater performance by Antonia’s youth musical theater troupe entitled, “The Wiz Kidz”. The Wiz Kidz consist of youth aged 8-18 yrs and have been with Antonia Arts being trained and ready ti create and perform.. Their most recent appearance was on stage at the Paramount Theater for a musical production entitled, “Oz On Stage”, May 7,2023. Other attractions at the 2023 “Oz Land Festival” include: Food trucks, craft and artisan vendors, a variety of singers, dancers, and musicians, group activities including “Zumba”, line dancing, face-painting, and amazing storytelling by the special guest and host for this event Jonathan Kruk.

Antonia’s vision of bringing joy to the community through the magic of the Oz Land Festival is unfolding, and sure to be a once again success. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume as their favorite “Oz” character!
