Oratorio Society Says Farewell to Conductor with Spring Concert in South Salem                     

On Saturday evening, May 4, 2024, Westchester Oratorio Society will present “Glorious Spring -A farewell to our conductor Benjamin Niemczyk” at South Salem Presbyterian Church. The concert will feature Brahms “Liebeslieder Waltzes,” Op. 52, Brahms “Schicksalslied,” Op. 54 and Mozart “Mass in C Minor.”

The concert marks Mr. Niemczyk’s farewell performance as Artistic Director after a 20-year affiliation with the organization. For this special performance, the chorus will be accompanied byFrancesca Federico, soprano, Christine Browne-Munz, mezzo soprano, Blake Friedman, tenor and Harrison Hintzsche, bass, along with the 25 member WOS Festival Orchestra, composed of some of the most talented young musicians in the New York City area.

This performance is being made possible with a grant from the Westchester Community Foundation. Westchester Community Foundation’s mission is to connect generous people to the causes they care about and invest in transformative ideas and organizations to improve lives and strengthen our community. WCF is a division of The New York Community Trust, one of the largest community foundations in the country, with assets of approximately $2.6 billion.

“Glorious Spring” begins at 7 PM. South Salem Presbyterian Church is located at 111 Spring St. S., Salem, NY. Tickets are $25 general ($30 at the door), $40 preferred ($50 at the door) and $15 students.  Seating is anticipated to be limited for this concert.
