Mme. Carole Alexis, Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres

It is our pleasure to announce that Carole Alexis, choreographer, director and co-founder of the Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre / Ballet des Amériques, was named Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Ministry of Culture of the French Republic.

The order is intended to honor people who have distinguished themselves by their creations in the fields of culture and communication or by the contribution they have made to the influence of the Arts and Letters in France and in the world.

We are delighted that Carole Alexis’ work has been recognized by her induction into this illustrious circle, which includes names such as Tina Turner, James Baldwin, Andre Leon Talley, Rudolf Nureyev, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, Dorothée Gilbert, Myriam Ould-Braham, Matthias Schoenaerts, Cate Blanchett, Jude Law, Robert Redford, Meryl Streep among others.

About Ballet des Amériques School & Company, Inc.

Under the direction of Carole Alexis, Ballet des Amériques School & Company combines ballet training, dance education and performance. Students of the School receive intensive training in classical ballet, in modern and in contemporary dance as well as a well-rounded dance education (with classes in music, dance history, anatomy) in a comprehensive and integrated curriculum-based pre-professional program. The professional dancers of the Company of Ballet des Amériques perform original choreographies throughout the greater New York City area and increasingly throughout the world.
