Immersion in the Present: Mary Ellis Now at Yellow Studio

Cross River, New York – Yellow Studio is thrilled to present Mary Ellis Now , a captivating solo exhibition featuring the latest abstract expressionist works by accomplished artist Mary Ellis. Mary Ellis Now is an invitation to immerse oneself in the present moment and experience the raw, unfiltered beauty of abstract expressionism. The show runs from April 13 to May 10, with an opening reception on Saturday, April 13 from 4 to 6pm.

In this exhibition, Mary Ellis’s intuitive mark-making and layered brushwork bypass the conscious mind and speak directly to the heart. Ellis’s process of adding and removing marks, textures, and colors allows the past to show through and enhance the present in her effort to demonstrate that we are the sum of all of our experiences. Each painting’s complex surface history engages the viewer emotionally and viscerally.
