“Hello + Goodbye” to open at Katonah’s Chroma Fine Art Gallery

Chroma Fine Art Gallery presents “Jill Freedman: Hello + Goodbye” photography show,  March 15 – April 17, 2022.                                                                                              The opening reception will be on Saturday, March 26, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The four-week exhibition is wide-ranging, featuring more than 40 vintage black and white prints from the 1960s to the 1980s. This collection includes work from Freedman’s famous projects on Resurrection City, New York firemen, New York cops, Ireland and circus workers, as well as some unpublished photographs.

Street photographer Jill Freedman (1939-2019) spent her life hiding behind her camera, finding subjects where others were not looking. Her most popular bodies of work focus on social and political movements, but she felt a deep empathy with the disenfranchised. Jill Freedman’s photographs demand our attention and we cannot look away.

Chroma Fine Art Gallery, founded in 2021, showcases work from local as well as foreign artists. The gallery, located at 194 Katonah Ave., Katonah, NY, provides a platform for both emerging and established artists.
