Fasten Your Seatbelts: An Evening of M.C. Neuda’s Readings of Crime Stories
[For immediate release] Upstream Gallery, known for its compelling art shows and innovative events offered in the gallery space, is pleased to present a solo literary show entitled HELL TO PAY, an evening of crime stories by fiction writer M.C. Neuda from a forthcoming collection. It will take place on Thursday, March 19th from 6:00pm – 8:30pm at the gallery.
Frequently featured at New York literary events and salons, “fasten your seatbelts” is, in fact, how M.C.’s readings have been described. The work, evocative, witty and suspenseful, nonetheless has a point to it beyond smart twists and clever endings (which it also has). The stories are all, ultimately, about justice: for the battered spouse, the abused child, the neglected elderly. The author gives those, for whom justice is often absent in the real world, a voice: by turns stylish, subtle, dramatic.
M.C.’s stories have been published online and in print in premier crime publications, such as Shotgun Honey, Yellow Mama, Near2TheKnuckle, and Crimespree, as well as in the more literary magazines, such as Full of Crow, The Legendary, Flash Fiction Magazine, and Flash: The International Short Short Story Magazine.
The gallery is committed to community engagement, and all are welcome. Located at 8 Main Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, it is a short walk from the Metro-North Hastings train station. Enough time has been allotted for enjoying light refreshments, visiting with friends and visitors, and speaking with the writer.
