ArtsWestchester Offers 5 Holiday Ideas for School-Break Activities
White Plains, NY (December 15, 2025)—With kids home for holidays, ArtsWestchester has five family-friendly holiday ideas for parents seeking cultural experiences.
From dazzling light displays to hands-on creative workshops, local arts organizations offer a variety of festive activities designed to keep children busy during their winter break.
The holiday activities include:
Grand Holiday Illumination at Untermyer Gardens
Visitors can stroll through the historic Walled Garden, which will be aglow with more than 100,000 lights accompanied by multicultural holiday music. Admission is free.

- Time: 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM daily

School’s Out / Art’s In at Katonah Museum of Art
Teaching artists will lead workshops connecting kids to current exhibitions through projects ranging from action painting to calligraphy.

The Great Holiday Train Show at New Castle Historical Society
The exhibition features new layouts, including LEGO Around the World, alongside classic favorites like the Polar Express set in a festively decorated historic house.
