Artist’s Statement
These paintings were done long ago during my formative years. Several were recently reworked to enhance them.
Using colors and shapes, I create the pulsating mood and movements that I perceive as the essential aspects of my subject matter. At the time my work echoed the underlying rhythms of the sometimes beautiful life I was immersed in. My subjects were music, art and dance and the life energy of New York City. Meanwhile, I had showings in Manhattan galleries on 57th Street, Madison Avenue, “the Village”, and at a cavernous bank in the Wall Street area.
This exhibition features are some of the leftover canvases I had kept aside from those exciting years.
Gallery Hours: Mon. – Sat. 10:00am-4:00pm (closed Sundays)
