Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Clay Art Center!
- Port Chester-based artist Fernando Martinez is Clay Art Center’s Hispanic Heritage Month Featured Artist. Recently, Fernando’s work was selected as one of 20 finalists in the 2025 Ceramics Monthly “Emerging Artists” edition. Stop by the gallery between September 15-October 15 to view Fernando’s work.

- Clay Art Center offers FREE studio tours on Wednesdays at 11:30 am. Learn about our history and visit our exhibitions, artist studios, and kiln rooms. For Hispanic Heritage month, we’re excited to launch free studio tours in Spanish by appointment year-round! To schedule a tour in Spanish or arrange a group tour, email [email protected].
- On Tuesday, September 23rd 1:30-3:30 and 3:30-5:30 pm, Clay Art Center is hosting two free, one-time classes for Hispanic Heritage Month! Sign up for one of two family-friendly handbuilding classes. Children must be 6 years or older to attend.

The Clay Art Center, founded in 1957 by Katherine Choy and Henry Okamoto and located in Port Chester, New York, is a nationally recognized non-profit center for the advancement of the ceramic arts. Its facilities are unique by providing artists with studio space, offering year-round clay classes and workshops in wheel throwing, pottery, sculpture and handbuilding for adults and children, thereby serving the Westchester and Connecticut communities.
