9 Jazz Concerts in Westchester to End This Year and Start the Next

Westchester is home to many well-known music artists, specifically in the jazz scene. For local jazz lovers or those just looking for a concert, here is a list of upcoming jazz concerts to finish up this year and start the next.

December 2, 2023:
The MCW Jazz Faculty Quintet

Presented by Music Conservatory of Music 
The Music Conservatory of Westchester welcomes guests to enjoy an afternoon concert with its Jazz Faculty Quintet. The concert, which will also be live-streamed, will be a tribute to hard bop era jazz pianist Horace Silver.

December 8, 2023: 
Rocky Middleton Jazz Ensemble 
Presented by New Rochelle Public Library
During this Friday night concert, Rocky Middleton Jazz Ensemble will perform some of jazz’s greatest hits, including Duke Ellington, Art Blakey, Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. At the Library’s Ossie Davis Theater.

December 14, 2023: 
Album Release: Loren Stillman’s Time and Again
Presented by KinoSaito Art Center
Brooklyn-based saxophonist and composer Loren Stillman, with Drew Gress and Mark Ferber, will feature eight original compositions from his new album, Time and Again.

Dec 31, 2023 & Jan 1, 2024: New Year’s Eve with Catherine Russell
Presented by Jazz Forum Arts 
Grammy Award winner Catherine Russell will celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Jazz Forum Club. Known for her vocal flexibility and interpretations, Russell’s repertoire features jazz, blues and pop from the 1920s to present day.

January 12 & 13, 2024:
Camille Bertault Trio: Direct from France!

Presented by Jazz Forum Arts 
Jazz Forum Ars starts the new year off on a jazzy note – with the Camile Bertault Trio, direct from France. Bertault’s album Bonjour Mon Amour, released in 2023, won Les Victories du Jazz.

February 10, 2024:
A Tribute to Eddie Palmieri, ft. Purchase Latin Jazz Orchestra

Presented by Performing Arts Center at Purchase College
Renowned Latin Jazz artists, as well as members of Eddie Palmieri’s own band will take the stage to celebrate the Grammy Award-winning pianist and pass the torch to emerging artists, including the Purchase Latin Jazz Orchestra.

March 24, 2024:
Sing and Swing: Our America Songbook

Presented by Performing Arts Center at Purchase College
Performing Arts Center collaborates with Jazz at Lincoln Center to present the Great American Songbook as it is brought to life by two New York artists: trumpeters Bria Skonberg and Benny Benack III, as well as a quartet of jazz all-stars.

April 18, 2024:
Cyrille Amiee

Presented by Emelin Theatre
Acclaimed French vocalist Cyrille Aimée comes to the Emelin Theatre in April. The Grammy Award-nominated artist has gone from performing on street corners in Europe to performing at some of the world’s most prestigious jazz festivals. 

April 19, 2024:
Lakecia Benjamin Quartet

Presented by Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts
Grammy-nominated saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin and her quartet bring their energetic show to Caramoor this spring. Benjamin, recently voted Rising Star Alto Saxophonist by Downbeat Critics Poll and blends jazz, hip-hop and soul.

February 14, 2024 Alexis Cole’s Valentine’s Day Juke Box Presented by ArtsWestchester This interactive Valentine’s Day concert with award-winning vocalist Alexis Cole puts a spin on the typical Valentine’s date night. Cole, along with her trio and special guest vocalists, will play a set of romantic jazz favorites, followed by a set of audience requests during which specific songs can be dedicated to loved ones. Cole is at the heart of New York’s jazz and cabaret scenes and has performed around the world.
