YTI WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Alumnus Returns Home – Takes the Lead

Yonkers, NY – Youth Theatre Interactions, Inc. (YTI) has announced that Ricardo Lima has joined the company to further strengthen their organizational growth. Ricardo Lima comes with a wealth of passion and drive, aimed at boosting YTI through the next phase of their service.

Ricardo comes from Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) where he was a language arts and social studies teacher. It was at WJCS where he also gained 2 years of experience as a site coordinator for an after school program at Edward Williams Elementary. There, he managed a staff of 20 and oversaw the daily operations of the Amazing Afternoons program which catered to 150 students annually, helping them develop academically and socially.

In 2012, Ricardo received his Master’s Degree in Educational Theatre from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. At NYU, he focused on curriculum development and theatre as a means of social change. His studies afforded him the opportunity to teach Theatre of the Oppressed themed classes within the New York State Prison System with the organization Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA).

“I am thrilled to be the new ED,” said Ricardo. “YTI has always been home to me, first as a student, then as a teacher and board member. Now, I’m eager to move YTI ever forward.”

Miriam Lovett, YTI’s Board President, added, “YTI is grateful to have Ricardo. He’s the new energy we’ve been looking for in an Executive Director.”
