Untermyer Performing Arts Council’s World Fest 2018

“Music From Around The World”

Featuring the Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra

7:30 p.m.  Saturday, July 28th 2018 at Historic Untermyer Park

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is presenting The Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra performing “Music from Around the World” on Saturday, July 28th, at 7:30 p.m. at Untermyer Park.

Untermyer Park will be filled with classic international music—with a touch of Americana thrown in– performed by this diverse group of renowned musicians from throughout the New York Metropolitan area led by Conductor Tong Chen.

Mentored by former Director of the New York Philharmonic Kurt Masur, Ms. Chen conducts for the Paul Taylor Dance Company and is an Adjunct Professor at the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York City.

The Yonkers Philharmonic has continued to bring the experience of live symphonic music to the people of Yonkers since it was founded in 1962 by Dr. Kathleen Pistone Carucci and her late husband, Pasquale Pistone, with the support of the Fine Arts Orchestral Society.

This definitely is another “don’t miss” Untermyer Performing Arts Council World Fest evening under the stars!

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to continuing the tradition of Minnie and Samuel Untermyer, bringing musical entertainment to our treasure of a park and the people of Yonkers.

Our events are admission free and open to the public.  Audience members must bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets, as seating is not provided

In case of rain, call the Untermyer Performing Arts Council’s Arts Line, 914-375-3435, after 2 p.m. the day of the performance for confirmation of the program’s location.  This year our rain site will be Saunders High School, 183 Palmer Road, Yonkers.

This program, done in cooperation with Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, is made possible by ArtsWestchester with support from Westchester County Government and the City of Yonkers.  The Empire City Casino, Senator Shelley Mayer, Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins and our many generous supporters provide additional support for our programs.
