Westchester Oratorio’s Fall Soirée is Sunday, Oct. 21 at St. Matthew’s in Bedford

Join the Westchester Oratorio Society for a convivial afternoon of food, wine and music on Sunday afternoon, October 21, when the group holds its annual fall event entitled “An Autumn Soirée” at the beautiful Parish Hall of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Bedford, NY.

The highlight of the afternoon will be an intimate recital by the remarkably talented students of the John Jay High School “Tri-M” Music Honors Society

Support the Westchester Oratorio Society with a convivial afternoon of wine and music.in the beautiful Fellowship Hall at Saint Matthew’s Church, 382 Cantitoe Street, Bedford, NY with music by students of the John Jay High School “Tri-M” Music Honors Society.

Enjoy the chorus’s traditional “treats and sweets” with wine and other refreshments, and hors d’oeuvres followed by a recital and coffee and desserts.

The event will also feature a wine tasting presented by Boutique Cellars Selections where representative Bob Kiely will lead participants through a tour of exceptionally valued premium wines from the Piedmont and Tuscany regions of Italy which will be available for order with local delivery or pickup at Bedford Wine Merchants. Stock up for the holiday season! A portion of the sale proceeds will go directly to support the programs of the oratorio society.

Founded in South Salem in 1997, Westchester Oratorio Society rehearses on Tuesday evenings at the Katonah Village Library. The group will give its first concert of the season entitled “Evening with Bach” on Saturday evening November 17 at South Salem Presbyterian Church featuring three Cantatas and a Motet by JS Bach.  On Sunday evening, December 9 WOS will participate in a ”Scratch Messiah” (sing-along with professional soloists) with the congregation of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Somers, NY. The group’s Spring Concert features Haydn’s “Creation” on Sunday afternoon May 5, 2019.

“An Autumn Soiree” begins at 3 pm. St Matthew’s Episcopal Church is located at 382 Cantitoe Street (Rte 22) in Bedford, NY.
