The Ariel Quartet was formed in Israel sixteen years ago when its members were young students. Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing, and soulful interpretations, the Ariel quartet quickly earned a glowing reputation, winning a number of international prizes.  They perform widely in Israel, Europe, and North America, including two record-setting Beethoven cycles last season, performed before all the members of the quartet turned thirty. This special ensemble continues to astonish with its performances of complete works by memory.  Recently awarded the prestigious Cleveland Quartet Award, the Quartet serves as the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music.  The American Record Guide has described the Ariel Quartet as “a consummate ensemble gifted with utter musicality and remarkable interpretive power.”
This magnificent group returns to kick off our 67th season bringing Westchester a program of classic and well loved chamber music. The Ariel will perform Mozart’s String Quartet in B-flat major, K589, Bartok’s Quartet No. 3 and Brahms Quartet in C major, Op. 51 No.1. Guests will enjoy an intimate setting, perfect for live chamber music and one with exceptional acoustics.
Unique to each of The Westchester Chamber Music Society’s concerts which consistently features top artists, is our after concert wine and cheese reception where all patrons are welcome to meet the artists. A special opportunity indeed!
