WCMS HOSTS WORLD-CLASS ENSEMBLES, GUEST ARTISTS AND CELEBRATED NEW TALENT PERFORMING UNIQUE CHAMBER MUSIC PROGRAMS.

Led by Dr. Caroline Bauman, a pediatrician and long-time Rye resident, the Westchester Chamber Music Society has always been committed to bringing first-rate artists to Westchester County, including the Tokyo String Quartet in their Westchester premiere and renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

This WCMS season includes The Antonin String Quartet featuring violinist Glenn Dicterow, who in 2014 completed the longest tenure of any concertmaster with The New York Philharmonic; and renowned violist Kazuhide Isomura of the famed Tokyo String Quartet which played its last concert in 2013.  Mr. Isomura will join the internationally lauded Cassatt String Quartet to perform a viola quintet.

WCMS concerts are on Sunday afternoons at 4pm at Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester in Rye, whose exceptional acoustics make it a very desirable venue. The Society presents five concerts a year.  Subscription memberships are available for only $175 and tickets at $40 may be purchased at the door.  Student tickets are free.

Attendees are invited at no charge to a post-concert reception at which they can meet and speak with the musicians. “We are thrilled to provide unique occasions for Westchester residents and other guests to connect with these very talented performers.  People can ask questions about the pieces, share their thoughts or simply say hello.  It is a very special opportunity for them to socialize with the musicians and others who share their love and appreciation of the music.” said Westchester Chamber Music Society President Dr. Caroline Bauman.
