April 8, 2019

White Plains, NY – The Alliance Francaise of Westchester is pleased to present an unforgettable program in May to feed the senses and stir the imagination.

The Paris Music Scene: From salons to café will premiere on Friday, May 3 at 8 pm., at the Arts Westchester building in White Plains, and will feature world-renowned musicians performing iconic pieces to illustrate the spectacular changes on the music scene since the late 19th Century.

The program will include timeless pieces by French composers Camille Saint-Saëns, Gabriel Fauré and Jules Massenet, modern works by Schoenfield and Maurice Jarre, and will bring us to the contemporary era with some examples of la “chanson française” with Aznavour and Barbara songs.

Throughout the sixty minute concert guests will enjoy an overview of each piece introduced by the accomplished Russian pianist Dr. Vladimir Babadzhan, co-founder of the Music School of Westchester. Four other performers will grace the event with their extraordinary talent: the cellist Ben Larsen, the pianist Olga Stepanova, the violinist Alla Sherbakov and Armenian born mezzo-soprano Alvard Mayilyan.

The festive evening will conclude with guests treated to champagne toast and chocolates while mingling with the performers.

Tickets are sure to sell out fast for this captivating evening and can be had by visiting the Alliance website at https://afwestchesterny.org. The cost for this unforgettable experience is nominal at $20 for Alliance members and $25 for non-members.
