Classes and Lessons
More than 100 classes are available for people of all ages. Embracing a multi-disciplinary approach, The Rye Arts Center offers an array of opportunities for you and your family to explore your creativity. In addition to traditional arts activities (music lessons, painting, drawing, ceramics, etc.), dozens of classes are available in computer programming, engineering, 3D printing, and so much more.
Painters on Location (Saturday, October 3) FREE
Dozens of professional artists will fill the Sound Shore area in the one day plein-air paint-out. The event will conclude at The Rye Arts Center with a reception and live auction of the freshly painted masterpieces.
STEAM in the Community: A Panel Discussion (Thursday, October 15, 7pm) FREE
As more and more schools and institutions embrace the STEAM (STEM+Arts) approach, it has become increasingly important for parents to become aware of the benefits and opportunities that are associated with STEAM.
Ladies Comedy Night (Thursday, November 5, 7pm) Tickets: $95
One of The Rye Art Center’s most popular events, Kim Berns, along with Karen Bergreen and Jessica Kirson will provide an evening of laugh-out-loud hilarity. Tickets go on sale September 8.
Holiday Concert and Sing-Along (Sunday, December 13, 3pm) FREE
Rye Arts Center Music faculty and friends will lead you in a festive holiday sing-along.
Eye On Art
This compelling series of tours and lectures will lead you through current exhibitions and topics. Check the website for a full schedule and prices.
Painters On Location (September 21 – October 3)
Works by the artists participating in Painters On Location will be on display and available as a silent auction. Over 35 artists will be included.
Tracy Burtz: The Art of the Study – Exploring the Emotions of Women in Painting
(October 10 – November 21)
This solo exhibition of a Rye Arts Center instructor, Tracy Burtz explores emotional the nuances of her works and models. Opening reception: Saturday, October 10, 3 – 5pm.

Dance for Parkinson’s Disease
The Rye Arts Center recently made its dance program specially designed for people who suffer from Parkinson’s Disease totally FREE!
Half Day for Half Pints
HDHP is a year-long half-day program offering a multi-disciplinary arts curriculum to pre-school children.
Famous Artists Program
This long-standing program trains parent-docents to bring arts education and hand-on activities into local elementary and middle school classrooms. This fall’s program will focus on Pablo Picasso.
In addition to the programs above, The Rye Arts Center partners with other non-profit organizations to offer arts education programs to under-served communities.
