Ballet des Amériques is honored to have been awarded a Project Support grant by ArtsWestchester with funds from the Westchester County Government for its innovative series Evenings of Dance in Port Chester, which is now entering its third season.
Created by director and choreographer Carole Alexis, Evenings of Dance in Port Chester are performances by the professional dance company of Ballet des Amériques in the company’s main studio, Studio Anna Pavlova, which is converted into a “white box theater” for this purpose. Guests are treated to a reception and to the unique experience of witnessing world-class dance choreographed by Carole Alexis in an intimate atmosphere where one can hear the dancers breathing and feel their steps on the sprung dance floor. For the upcoming season, the performance space has been further improved by recent renovations that opened up a previously suspended ceiling. Offering an opportunity for lively discussion about the art of dance and its social relevance, Evenings of Dance in Port Chester also invites guests to make dinner reservations at one of the many restaurants in the Waterfront District and take advantage of Arts Deals discounts at participating establishments. The dates for the 2017 season are January 21, February 25, March 25 and April 29, with performances beginning at 7 pm.
Ballet des Amériques wishes to thank ArtsWestchester and the Westchester County Government for their support of this artistic initiative which brings the art of dance and its culture into the heart of our community.
