Castle Gallery of the College of New Rochelle
For over 30 years, one of Westchester’s hidden gems is right on The College of New Rochelle’s campus. Castle Gallery serves as a vital art resource for the community, and it is actually in a “castle.” Leland Castle is a 19th century Gothic revival castle listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hosting exhibitions of works by new and established artists, such as Gordon Parks, Byron Goto, and Laura James, Castle Gallery represents outstanding curational practices in researching and preparing exhibitions and sharing them with the community. Students at The College of New Rochelle use the Gallery as a valuable resource and local school groups benefit from guided tours through which teachers bring the arts into the classroom.
