Artist Statement
Von discovered his artistic talent while attending elementary school. Even his teachers recognized his "gift". Class projects and talent shows provided the first of many platforms for Von to share his "gift". He subsequently became a mentor in a supplemental education program, "I Have a Dream", for youth in New York City, which led to a program that provided travel to art programs at various colleges, art galleries, and museums. Without previous professional training he pursues his love of art through various mediums. Being self-taught Von has an unencumbered approach in the expressing his visions, values and views of life. These are shown in a multi-faceted display of mediums; whether it is oils, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pastels or pencil. Von has exhibited paintings and drawings in Westchester County and New York City. He is one who is restless to express life in all it's splendor. It is Von's greatest desire to share his visions with all walks of life through the realm of his art.
