Artist Statement

Tara Linhardt is an award winning multi-instrumentalist who performs and teaches on mandolin and guitar as her main instruments. She has won many awards for my skills as an instrumentalist and songwriting. She has taken first place in such contests as The Mt. Airy Fiddler's Convention, the Maury River Fiddler's Convention, Watermelon Park Festival,  and The Deer Creek Fiddler's Convention just to name a few.  She also has been nominated in multiple years for Washington DC bluegrass instrumentalist of the year.

She performs with my  musical groups with expertise in Swing Jazz, Bluegrass, Old Time, and Irish styles, as well as doing recording session work and teaching music full time.

Educational Background

She graduated cum laude with a B.A. from The University of Wisconsin-Madison and then received a Masters in Education from Shenandoah University. She has taught different things all my life and love teaching all ages of students. She has been teaching guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, and tenor guitar privately as well as at Music Festivals, in workshops, at summer camps such as multiple years at Common Ground Bluegrass Week at McDaniel College in Westminster Maryland and the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival, teaching both guitar and mandolin.
