I love teaching art to elementary school children because they have a playful and inventive mind. They instinctively know how to be creative and can easily engage in art making processes. They are open to play, investigate, experiment, and learn to a great extent when they are given proper guidance, tools, and resources. I enjoy observing children expressing creatively, and it is a labor of love to facilitate learning experiences that nurture the mind and soul of each individual. Art can be a powerful tool for literacy because it sparks curiosity for creating, communicating and learning. My goal is to learn more about academics and art education, become more experienced and skillful in public classroom settings, and find new ways to incorporate core subjects through art making in playful and creative ways that inspire children to learn and develop age-appropriate skills.
