Artist Statement

Scott grew up on the coast of Maine and was interested in pursuing art at a young age. He started painting some of the local scenes there while still in High School. His career has been spent as an art director/creative director at numerous large advertising agencies in New York, solving creative challenges for many large blue-chip corporations. A few years ago, he decided to apply his over 25 years of design and conceptual artistic experience back into the watercolor medium. Scott's favorite subject matter is of the beautiful New England he grew up in, as well as upstate New York. His desire is to not abstract the natural beauty in any way, but to try and capture it in as natural and believable way as possible. "I love finding the unexpected subject matter and then proceed to recreate it with the true lighting of that moment, whether it's sun or fog. The viewer can then silently nod from their own personal experiences of that area and say to themselves, Yeah. That's what it's like there. His work is in the permanent collection of the Publicis Advertising Network, as well as numerous private ones. 2010 Shows Solo Exhibition at the Harrison Public Library Solo Exhibition at the Greenburg Public Library 2009 Shows Exhibition at NYU Medical Center, New York, NY "Interiors" Exhibition at the Paramount Theater, Peekskill, NY Solo Exhibition at the Mt.
