Artist Statement

Exploration of earth and water is a continuing focus for work incorporating photographic imagery as a point of departure with an emphasis on the qualities of abstraction. Work includes; painting and collage on photographic surfaces, layered Plexiglas drawings, video installations and video frame digital prints. I was the first artist to show Film as Art at the Hirshhorn Museum in 1974. My films were included in Women Avant-Garde Filmmakers in America 1930-2000 at the Whitney Museum. Exhibitions include the Bronx Museum, the Islip Museum, the Goldstrom gallery, SculptureCenter, A.I.R. gallery, The NY Hall of Science Millennium show, Biennial Westchester: 2000, the Chelsea Museum, the 911 Media Arts Center, Seattle, the DIVA Art Fair and the Van Brunt gallery, Beacon. Wave Transformations was projected on a 14-ft. balloon at the Citigroup hanger for the Westchester Arts Council gala and will be at the Miami Beach Cinematheque for Art Miami 2006. River Meditations, produced for the Hudson River Museums Imaging the River, 2003-2004 was a 24hr. projected window installation at the Donnell Library in 2005. I am listed in Who's Who in American Art 24th-27th editions.
