Artist Statement
A lifelong artist with a background in both art and art education, Rich Hoffmann's unique and colorful shaped, cut out paintings and sculptures present reconstructions of the many pieces of life experienced by all of us each day. The forms may be assembled or cut from a single piece. They are intended to interact with the environment within which they are placed. When displayed on the walls, the very space they are in becomes part of the image. The paintings, because of their form and images, both accept and deny three-dimensionality.
