Mary McFerran is a multimedia artist with a current focus on textiles and stitching. McFerran has been an artist-teacher dating back to her experience with New York Foundation for the Arts in the 1990's, when she was working with video art. Later, her career transitioned into technology and she worked for schools as a technology teacher and administrator. In 2009, she moved to London, England and studied textile art. Since returning to the US in 2014, she has concentrated on multimedia installations.

Teaching Artist Experience
Mary McFerran has worked with students of all ages and loves to assist others in finding their own joy through creativity. Her teaching approach is hands-on. She has worked in New York City public and private schools and in England. Since joining the ArtsWestchester team, she has done a residency with a 5th grade class at Paideia School 24 in Yonkers, helping them create quilts based on the American Revolution. She has also worked with seniors at Huguenot House in New Rochelle and at the Continuing Day Treatment program at White Plains Hospital where she worked with an art therapy project for adults creating stuffed characters. In addition to teaching at ArtsWestchester, she also teaches art workshops at Westchester Community College and local libraries.
