Artist Statement
I studied Illustration at Parsons School of Design (BFA) and Art Education (MA) at The City College of New York. My professional experience includes graphic design, teaching art for High School, and serving as an Artist-in-Residence within the public school setting. My images are based on familiar people and places, yet adapted to create a narrative scene. To me every painting is a stage within which a story unfolds. This holds true even in the absence of the human figure. A still-life always suggests an interaction with the hand that created it or with the eye of the beholder, a landscape reminds us of recent departure or of an imminent arrival.
