Artist Statement
For the past 25 years Mavis has been teaching and producing abstract expressionist work which focuses on the figurative elements in the imaginary and physical worlds which surround us. She has taught at two-year and four-year colleges in the tri-state area as well as at Adult Education Cultural Programs. She currently serves on the Museum Service Council of the Neuberger Museum of Art at SUNY Purchase College, Purchase, NY and has given the prior 4 years (1998-2002)to the NY Public School System and Westchester Community Service Projects by serving on the Westchester Arts Council's Artist Roster.
