Artist Statement

Fassa is a self taught painter that works in a realistic, figurative style with oils on canvas and board. For the past three years, Fassa has been an artist-in-residence at Artists-on-Hudson at Washington Irving's Sunnyside. Her work has been called "impressive, reminiscent if Ingres" by the professor of Fine Arts at The University of Connecticut. She has had four one woman shows in Westchester in the past year. Her work has been photographed for The New York Times, The Journal News and The Bergen County Record. "I strive to capture the intensity of the sitter" she says. Fassa lives in Tarrytown with her husband 3 daughters and dog. Currently you may see "Here's Looking at You" at The Heritage Gallery, 4 N. Broadway, Tarrytown, May 21st through June 17th 2004.
